In 1988, Alexander Strumpet’s bold stand changed the Potato Race forever. Now, Penny has returned to town to find out the Potato Race needs another shake up, to make the women’s prize money equal to the men’s. The campaign divides the town, family and friends. The story, based on real events in a NSW town, follows five strong Australian women whose own personal histories affect the way they view this ‘revolutionary’ action.

This brilliantly witty Australian comedy will have you laughing but also reflecting on the imperfections of our society.  Melanie Tait’s writing pitches big city progressive thinking against small town conservative values in a loving critique of Australian identity.

Warnings: Nudity, coarse language.

Featuring:  Lis Hoffmann, Valerie Henry, Kate O’Sullivan, Kayti Murphy and Neha Chhapai
