The Actors’ Hub Studios Inc. is thrilled to present ‘Paper Cranes’ – a Dystopian/Romance short film premiering at Palace Cinemas, Raine Square on the 8th of September 2023.

Filmed in 2021, written and directed by Amanda Crewes, starring Trent Foo, Tia Cullen and Christian Tomaszewski – The Actors’ Hub Studios has gone all out for a film premiere event unlike any other.

Synopsis: In a world that has traded emotion for productivity, a young accountant, James, who was separated at birth from his mother, is ordered to attend her funeral and dispose of her belongings. But when he finds a mysterious box addressed to him, James embarks on a precarious journey to find connection and be truly known by another person – all while under the careful watch of the military. Socialisation, emotions, art and intimacy have all been outlawed, so how will James tread the fine line between what he’s been taught, and how he feels?

Our aim is to take care of your experience. Expect to be deeply immersed in the world of ‘Paper Cranes’ from the moment you step through the doors. Compete for scarce ration cards as you engage in snitching programmes, high-pressured tests and personality exams that assign you an occupation, all while dodging armed militant ushers and hiding your emotions from watchful eyes.

There’s lots to look forward to at an Actors’ Hub Studios’ film premiere. Audiences can walk the red carpet, take photos, and enjoy free popcorn and ice cream for every ticket holder.

You will also have the opportunity to meet with the cast and crew, dive deeper into the dystopian world of ‘Paper Cranes’ and explore just how far we are from this reality ourselves. There may even be a short teaser of ‘In Sect’, our next film, currently in post-production.
