Conscripted into the First World War, Will, a lance corporal, faces the challenge of bringing himself and his eight childhood friends home safely. His triumph in getting them off the front lines and into an observation post is short-lived when they are indirectly responsible for the death of a soldier.
Now, they are forced to choose between singing to draw enemy fire or facing the consequences of their actions before a firing squad.
Do Will and his comrades withstand the unrelenting strain of war, or will the brutal realities of battle shatter their friendship and cost them their lives?
